New year, new courses!

As our new programme of courses for 2014/15 gets underway, we're really looking forward to welcoming learners, old and new, to our classes.

It feels like we've barely finished celebrating the successes of last year's students, which included those studying for GCSEs, like Claire Barnett, who was delighted to achieve a Grade C in Maths, which she plans to use to help her son with his school work.

You can find out more about learner successes and experiences in Meet the learner and take a look at the work of previous learners in our Student showcase.

If you'd like to follow your own learning ambitions and become one of this year's success stories, why not join a course. We cover a wide variety of subjects, including languages, art & craft, guitar lessons and have a new range of sports, health and wellbeing classes, so wherever your interest lies, we've probably got something to suit you. Why not search our courses to find out what's available.

Textile Exhibition 2014

The City & Guilds Patchwork and Quilting and Embroidery classes at level 1, 2 & 3 recently held their annual exhibition of their work. Once again the visitors were all impressed with the standard of the work on display. The students spent many hours both in class and at home producing work of the highest quality.

Further photographs of the work on display can be seen on the Newport Community Learning Facebook page (www.facebook.com/NewportACL)
